With fall rolling in my skin is practically screaming for moisture. The beautiful glow I had from the summer is long gone. Fall and winter is really the season where I try to focus more on getting my skin routine just right.
A few of my latest products have been gifts from my mother back home in Finland, all from the Finnish brand Lumene. Lumene is not a new brand to me whatsoever. I have used their products for many years, loving some products more than others of course. But with their latest products, I couldn’t help but notice the tremendous improvements they have made. The packaging looks clean, modern and beautiful. (Sometimes I judge products by their packaging, I can’t help it.) The product itself also seems more luxurious. So I wanted to share my thoughts on my new products.
Invisible illumination – Instant Illuminizer
First is the product I knew I loved and needed to have. I had received a sample from somewhere and loved their Liquid Illuminizer. I have the color rosy dawn, a light pinkish color, but you can’t really see any pink on your cheeks. It just gives a natural angelic glow. I really enjoy the scent of it also, a light fresh scent.
It goes on the skin so effortlessly and looks natural, just like you have that glow from within. It was perfect for the end of summer but I still think it’s going to be a staple in the colder months. I also like to layer highlighters so that they last longer, and this one works perfectly for that. First I apply a thin layer of a liquid highlighter and then set it with a powder highlighter. It makes you look glowing all they long.
Lähde – Purity Dew Drops Hydrating Eye Gel
My mother recently sent me their hydrating eye gel, which was perfect since I had just run out of eye cream. I love the product, there is not much else I can say about it. I just love it. It feels light under my eyes and hydrates pretty well. I have a very dry under eye area, so I’m afraid that when winter comes around I’m going to need an eye cream that is a little bit more hydrating. But I definitely recommend this one.
Nordic Chic – Under Eye Concealer
I also got the concealer for dark circles. (I don’t know what my mother is trying to say? No kidding, I think she just knows my obsession with concealers.) This one I haven’t had much time to really play around with, but I’ve tried it a couple of times and enjoyed it. It has a pinkish undertone to help cancel out any darkness or blue tones under the eye. So I apply a small amount on any of my dark areas and then follow up with a lighter concealer. This concealer might be a little dark on its own since I’m so fair, but I think it is good for anyone suffering from dark under eyes.
Nordic Chic – Eyeshadow Primer
The last product I have recently tried from Lumene is their eyeshadow primer, and I do like it. Eyeshadow primers are used to help the eyeshadow last longer, prevents creasing and makes the colors appear more vibrant. I think this primer does all of that. I haven’t really worn a full smokey eye of eyeshadow with it yet, but for everyday use, it has worked perfectly for me.
Lumene skincare wishlist
Since I had such good luck with these latest products, I had the clever idea to have a look around their website to see if there was anything else I wanted to try. Yeah, not so clever. Now I have a wishlist of “a few” products, let’s say. Hopefully, Santa has contacts with Lumene.
I decided to share some of my picks if I could go crazy and choose them all. We can lust over the beautiful products together.
Valo – Arctic Berry Cocktail Brightening Hydra-Oil
I’m just going to include a bit of the description of this product from the Lumene website, and you will understand why I need to have it. (Also it looks flipping cool, right?)
“Vitamin C and Pure Arctic Spring Water combine to hydrate even the driest of skin, returning your natural moisture levels and leaving you with soft, radiant-looking skin.” I mean, what more could you want than soft radiant-looking skin…?
Valo (light) – Glow Boost Essence
All of the products I just need to have are going to have a theme here. I can’t help it. I just want radiant, smooth and hydrated skin. This product claims to “instantly enlivens fatigued and dull-looking skin” according to their description. Yes, please.
Lähde (source of hydration) – Hydration Recovery Aerating Gel Mask
This mask just looks hydrating to me. I feel like my skin gets more hydrated just by looking at it. It’s soo blue. But on a serious note, this claims to “indulge your skin’s surface with moisture to provide intense hydration” and “leaves it smooth and even for an instantly fresh and radiant glow”. So yeah, sign me up for that!
Kirkas (Clarity) – Glow Reveal 60 Second Facial
Well, I love masks, that’s why I had to pick two. And a 60 second facial? It sounds amazing. I feel like you could do this in the morning for a good pick me up, or if you have a special occasion where you just want to feel like you did that little extra step when getting ready. According to their website, “the multi-benefit formula combines gentle exfoliation, purifying actives and skin brightening oils to leave skin radiant-looking and deeply purified.” I almost feel like this one is highest on my wishlist. Almost. Maybe second, after the Brightening Hydra Oil.
Valo (light) – Glow Refresh Hydrating Mist
Oh face mists, I wish I had them all. I love this step in any of my skincare routines. This one claims to help your skin feel glowy and hydrated. Again with my glowy and hydrated. I think I just feel like my skin is a little too dull right now. I’m drawn like a magnet to anything that says radiant or glowy.
I think this is it, for now. I saw that they had some amazing looking makeup as well. But I feel like that might make this blog post way too long. If anyone wants to see my top picks from their makeup let me know, and I will definitely do another blog post on that! Let me know if you have tried any of their products and your thoughts on them. Also, let me know if you want a review on any of the products on my wishlist, and then I might have to get them, you know, for you guys 😉
